As immigrant families across the nation await the Senate’s vote on an immigration bill, Cities for Action affirms our unequivocal support for a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers. Our nationwide coalition of over 175 mayors and county leaders denounce efforts to cut family-based immigration – a bedrock of our immigration laws. We vehemently oppose any efforts to punish cities and counties for sensible public safety policies that help maintain vital trust between immigrant communities and law enforcement.  The Senate must pass a bi-partisan bill that reflects these values. Any efforts to the contrary represent an attack on American cities and families.
