“Yesterday, the Trump Administration released its long-awaited “public charge” rule change, which seeks to penalize working immigrant families for using certain public benefits. We at Cities for Action believe that everyone who comes to our country deserves a fair opportunity to make a better life for themselves and their families. This rule would deprive some immigrants of this chance. We condemn it in the strongest possible terms. We will work together to ensure that cities across the country are able to support their immigrant residents through this time, and will help fight this draconian and wrongheaded rule.”
