CITIES FOR ACTION ISSUES STATEMENT IN SUPPORT OF THE NEW DEAL FOR NEW AMERICANS ACT

Cities for Action (C4A) issued the following statement in response to U.S. Representatives Grace Meng (D-NY), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), and Jesús Garcia (D-IL) and U.S. Senators Ed Markey (D-MA) and Mazie Hirono (D-HI) introducing the New Deal for New Americans Act to Congress. 

The New Deal for New Americans represents a major step towards recognizing and honoring the true value of immigrants for our communities and our country. Cities and counties across the U.S. applaud this important bill, and we urge Congress to pass this legislation as we fight to break down long-standing barriers to immigrants' full integration into our communities and build an immigration system that truly respects and values all migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers.
